i dont understand. train. Its winxp.
btw: i did what the german instruction told. no changings. i see full-access! which is not the case. it must be deep inside the rules which i dont understand.
its says the restricted account is owner of the drive. should i change the ownership. at least i could try. had similar problem with folders some years ago.
As i told: it says empty and no access at all.

I see "effective rights" translated from german: effektive berechtigungen. There i can give effective rights. maybe i must add an account here. but i dont understand what this is for , whats the difference to the full-access-rights i can see.
changing ownership to administrator-account did not help. neighter to add the restricted acount to that empty list there.

SOLVED!
yes i downloaded xcacls but could not make it run. when surfing to the location xcacls.vbs was displayed in command-line. adding the parameters and executing did not work. a warning was popping up: cscript blabla
Solution was this:
1. gave admin-rights to restricted account which had the access-problem.
2. highlighted all folders. I saw that administrators are now owners.
But could not see the actual account-name. it said user(code). i used that one since it must be that user/account.
waited and hoped i did not make too much wrong. gave full access. is that right since i must work with these data?
did not understand the ownership: only the owner can decide what can be done or not?

Don't understand exactly what you did, or remember much about XP. Good to hear the problem's finally been resolved though.

Went to the drive etc. under options security i saw multiple clients(user, administrator etc) in user-section(real user-name was not displayer, mayeb because i had removed the account and changed name . i saw there is no full-access.
ok this is a shortenend instruction. just go there and check what is shown. do what i have advised if in the same situation.
used this instruction:

Those are the instructions i USED.
