AHCI for esata-drive cannot be activated anymore-Start-loop-WINP

After exchanging my still working MB Asrock alivedual-esata2(i love it) and doing bios-update i cannot set anymore AHCI in cmos without getting a startloop in winxp. have tried everything.
removed legacy usb-setting(dont know if i really need it), set default settings. used PS2-keyboard on MB and not on switch(with usb-adapter).
Maybe i must also use mouse on MB to get that working.
Yes i did a cmos-clear but didnt remove the battery(which is ok).
I also tried it with esata-drive active. Maybe reinstalling usb-drivers. Which i did on my new winxp-system and it worked with old MB.

Whats wrong with AHCI? It would be interesting the setup the old MB again.
regarding my ps2-keyboard(maybe its highest time to get an usb-one):
is it still an ps2-one and not usb when adapter on switch is use. I am reffering to legacy-usb-setting. Thanks a lot.

    SOLVED-Miracle happened

A miracle happened and i could install my esata-drive WITHOUT AHCI! I could swear i had to use it on my ASROCK dualcore.
Did an usb-installation(automatic) drive had been recognized and then switched to esata-cable. BINGO.
Maybe ASROCK did a changing and i had an earlier BIOS on second MOBO.
Or AHCI is only need for older MOBOs. I have it attached there with firewire permanently. Maybe a bad idea when switching from PC1 to PC2 having both connected?
Can i leave PC2 attached on external drive with firewire and on PC1 with esata or usb? Switching back and forth between pcs?

Drive not listed in official winxp-taskbar. maybe drivemanager must be installed.
It seems drive was in standby(no lights) before i accessed data. If nothing is in action can i simply switch off?

MB has AHCI-option. still dont know whats this setting is for. if activated i will see a startup-loop, quick error-message(too quick to read).
partition of esata will obviously not be seen as usb-drives.

still dont know what is wd drive-manager for. maybe when used with firewire and usb-cables.

legacy usb-setting - That setting allows usb mouse and kb to be used in safe mode and the like just like your ps/2 mouse and kb.

When i shut down esata-drive i must reboot to see data again.
drivemanager seems only related to fireware and usb not esata.
Die eSATA-Schnittstelle unterstützt den WD Drive Manager nicht.
    not supported!

    esata-drive and AHCI-setting

I dont need AHCI to show esata-drive-partitions. Is it only need for booting from an esta-bootpartition? i could try since i have one of my other pc.
