Changed monitor from 19" to Widescreen, now a problem.

With my XPpro pc I have just replaced old 19" with a Samsung S24150DL widescreen and have adjusted the res to the optimal for this screen. Have adjusted aspect ratio and most stuff is ok BUT on the internet I get a reduced display with large gaps either side. This happens with any browser.
Is there anything I can do to make the internet cover the whole screen?
    Many thanks.

Are you sure that's the model number? I can't find any info on it. Could it be a Samsung S24150BL?

What are the urls of the sites? It's possible that they just programmed the pages like that.

Yes I think it is the S24150BL and looking again in Amazon and Samsung I think there is also a B after the 24 as well! Sorry about that. URL is for the BBC and is:

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes, it is programed like that. Iceweasel shows the the bare side bars too.

BBC has been set up like that since 2000 as I recall.
