Partitioning eSata-Drive
I now have my esata(firewire/usb 2.0) drive properly installed and formatted. But i want create some parititions, above all a backup-systempartiton of 34gb size.
I am unsure how to do that. base/primany ,extended or logical partitions?
first one extended and the remaining ones logicals, right?
base/primary is only needed on drives which will boot, right?

Hanging at start when eSata-drive is on
When eSata-drive was no shut down at the end of a session PC will hand at next start and i can see this drive.
This is not the case with my other USB-drive.
Is there a solution where i can leave the drive alone after working with it? Or automatic shutdown?
If i have IDE and SATA-drives inside i have to set SCSI in cmos-setup. Maybe only when i am booting the SATA.

I always diconnect external drives before shutting down. Just lost to much data over the years not to do that.
You have the card installed?
I would leave that in the BIOS alone as it is working.
