Comm Ports in win2k
After installing win2k I looked at my device maneger and it only shows me having a comm 1 and comm 3 ports. Win98 shows comm 1,2,4 and my modem is on 2. So I can not get win2k to see my modem b/c it can not see my comm 2. How can I get win2k to see it. I try searching for new hardware.

It might be that your modem is not supported by WIn2K

I checked the win2k hardware compatibility list and it said it was. But the problem is windows not seeing my comm 2 port.

Hmmm...are you sure you didnt accidently disable the com2 port in the bios? Have you checked to make sure that none of the already setup devices are using the resources that com2 is set to in the bios?

I have not touched the bios and I am sure they are right because modem on comm 2 works in win98 and RH 6.1 (triple booting). Could it be win2k does not see my mother board correctly? It is a soyo 5ema+.
