Twisted Pairs

Is/are more rotations/twists per foot,yard,inch, whatever better ?...... They are both accredited cables, its just that I was wondering which to use on my own installation .... Twist city or relaxed as twists go ...... Just wondering

More twists per inch is better for noise cancellation and all that jazz. If you're looking to do some long cable runs (especially in a noisy environment) then it would be preferable.

However, if you're not doing long runs then it probably won't make too much of a difference. More twists also means more wire, which will also means more expensive if you require more. (Unless you have a reel of either kind of cable you wanted a comparison of and they are of sufficient quantity?)

Yeah, I've got enough of both types ........ Will go for the more twisty reel then ........

However I did make a really lil patch lead out of some of that with the correctly certified plugs & my router sez..... WHOA Only 10/100 thro that....... Then I unplug it shove in any old Cat5(e) cable & it goes OKAY 1000 thro this puppy ........ I have no idea why ..... I'm going to start buying ready made leads...... This is just annoying ........ Probably be a idea to test some of this cable for "Speedyness" before I commence a pullin it & find ....... That its just, well plain old Poo :@(

Sounds like you wired up your ends wrong, and its recognizing it as a Cat5 cable and not Cat5e.

This shows the difference between the two. The layout on the right (T568B standard) is how you should set up your cables if they're just straight-through patch cables.

Try lobbing off the old ends and follow that diagram.

Really? I find that really strange, unless its mislabeled Cat5 it should have worked just fine.

Well if the other spool works proper then I guess roll with that.
