Keyboard gone haywire
Hello folks
My OS is Vista
I have a microsoft wireless keyboard 1000, which I have used on my PC before without problems.
Now after sometime Going wired, I have decided to bring it back into service, but it has gone berserk.
If I type m I might get 6 and so it goes with all the keys, some keys even opened windows live while some open search, its all confused. Yet my other keyboard works normal on the system.
I can't find any settings for it beside the one in language in control panel.
I have tried it on the laptop and it behaves in the same way.
Should there be a hardware setting that got changed?, as it does not seem to be a software problem,
please give your advice.
Thanks

Changing to fresh batteries don't make any difference its just all jumbled up.

Do you know which frequency the keyboard and receiver uses?
it could be caused by interference or being too far away from the source

I do not know the frequencies, but everything is close to eachother.
I have tried many things, even reinstalling the latest driver nothing makes any difference, it is now going in the trash.
