Partition Drive D becomes folder
Hello folks
Running Vista, My drive is partitioned C & D.
After a virus knockout, I tried to restore a backup from D using Acronis, but that failed saying corrupt partition
I then re-installed Vista. Now when I try to read my D drive from my computer, it shows up not as a drive, but as an empty folder.
If I run Acronis and log on to the D drive I can then see all the files.
I am therefore unable to access any of the files in the normal way.
I noticed in disk manager the drive shows as (D) (D) while C shows as (C).
Hope there is a fix for this
Thanks

Yes, backup programs like Acronis do compress and hide backups. So they do not get damaged.

Is there a way to retrieve the files from the drive?
The Drive shows as two Ds, but when I click on it, says empty folder.
Tried UBCD, it showed the files, I copied them to another disk, but when I try to open them in vista, they show blank. Same thing happens when I do it with Acronis.

Problem solved.
Somehow the files became hidden, don't know how but I managed to show them and all is well now.

Most computer sysrem come set to hide certain files. So you have to set it to show hidden files, because I sure can see and browse my 80 some GB backup.
