    Question Hyperlink failure in Excel

Microsoft Office 2003 on Windows 7

I created a hyperlink in Excel that is supposed to link to a specific place in a Word doc. I created a bookmark in Word. Copied the bookmark. Right-clicked on the cell in Excel where I wanted the hyperlink to be and chose Paste Special, Paste Link, Hyperlink. This is what was inserted in the cell:

    =Word.Document.8|'C:\Users\Kathleane\Documents\kco 2\Project Payday\craigslist-ads.doc'!'!Ad1'

That all looks good except that it isn't a hyperlink. Nothing happens when I click on the cell.

The cell displays the text of the bookmark which is

    AD 1

and I can see the formula leading to the hyperlink target.

    Any ideas?

Never mind! I figured it out. The instructions on Microsoft were incorrect. I needed to choose Paste NOT Paste Link.
