    Question Intel D975XBG

Can anybody tell me if the Intel D975XBG Socket 775 System Board Motherboard (gateway big arm) will take the E5000-E7000 OR E8000 INTEL CORE 2 CPU.
It has a 1066 fsb but will it down size a 1333 fsb cpu to1066 fsb.
It now has a E6600 1066 core 2 cpu. thks

No, the 975 chipset won't take them.

Red face GATEWAY D975XBG-BIG ARM, VERSUS INTEL D975XBX2

NEED TO KNOW IF THE TWO HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME SPECS, BECAUSE THE INTERNET IS FULL OF CONFUSING ANSWERS.
ALSO WHAT WILL BE THE HIGHEST SPEED CPU FOR THIS BOARDS FOR TODAY FEB 2012. THE LATEST INFO FOR BOTH BOARDS IS LIMITED TO YEAR 2008 OS SO
BOTH END WITH CORE 2 QUAD BUT NO OTHER INFO!
    THANKS

The powerpoins for the cpu are in different places, so, they are not interchangeable.

If you need a replacement, I had used these guys for older BTX systems with good results:
