 Need cpu info
I bought a new gateway FX510XL Intel (Watsonville 2) 975X Motherboard with bios
WT97510J.15A.2002.2006.0206.1037.
I need to know what intel CORE 2 DUO cpu will work with this morthboard. I tried a Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E4600 2.40GHz/2M Cache/800MHz FSB/LGA775 and a Intel E6400 - 2.13 GHz /1066/2mb Dual-Core Processor both are good cpu.
Avery thing starts up but motherboard won't idle down and post. PS is a 500wt with a 8 prong cpu plug
I am running a Intel Pentium D 830 - 3 GHz Dual-Core 2M/800 Processor CPU now and it starts and runs good but would like to upgrade to a core 2 duo.
Does any body know what core 2 duo cpu the gateway FX510XL DESKTOP SHIPPED WITH.
I installed the motherboard in a gateway 6610D pc case after the old INTEL BX975X motherboard went bad. thks

These should be supported if you have the right BIOS update.
