dead hard drive
Hi Guys, I am having a problem with a laptop at work. For a long time it said "no operating system found" when I tried to boot it, then all of a sudden it booted right up to Win xp. I noticed in the log it said my hard drive was failing and I should back it up. My question is, I bought a new hard drive and was wondering if there is a way to put my operating system from the old one onto the new one, or do I have to buy another operating system. The laptop is a gateway running Win XP. Thanks alot for your help.

In theory - you could purchase Acronis True Image and an external case.... And send an image of the old drive to the new one.

What Steve said.
True Image is great.
