    Restoring programs

I just did a windows repair installation. PC runs windows again but it doesn't run any programs. When I open windows explorer it shows all the programs and file in their folders prior to the repair installation. What do I do to get these programs once again running?
    Thanks

You'll have to reinstall your programs.

I checked and there is only one windows folder. There are however under documents and settings two folders for "ALL USERS" and two under my name Each of them has "Favorites" , "Desktop", and "Start Menu".but their contents differ One has "User Data" the other does not and one has"My Documents" the other has "Phil's Documents" with differing contents. Any way to straighten out this mess?

Well, the easy way out is to save what you would hate to lose and do a clean install. That would be the route I would take.

A clean install of windows will surely help you save time and efforts. In that case you have to reinstall all programs.

Trying and repairing will some way help you but your pc's work may lame.
