need clean up help. donation time
on XP, is there an easy way to erase the files - without wiping out the OS? - and save the programs for someone else to use? Getting ready to donate a 'puter, but don't want to send my files to Joe Blow

You'll have to do it manually.
If there are some reallly important files/account numbers etc...doing a zero fill of the hard drive and re-installing the OS is the safe method.

re: need clean up help. donation time
no crucial files - mostly photos I don't feel like sharing. i bought computer used and do not have OS install disk. can i burn one? - and if so, how do i find the registration key?
if none of the above is possible, some guidance on how to safely manually delete files would be appreciated. a good link perhaps that I can study on the subject? like Deletion for Dummies - lol

You might have a recovery partition to restore the pc or perhaps to create a set of recovery disks. If you post your pc info , make/model, someone may be able to help.
