    Question full system recovery disaster

If you did a full system recovery and accidentally lost all the manufactured programs (Windows Vista), can you retrieve them without buying new software?

If it's a store bought/pre built machine - I would contact the company I got it from.

Recovery methods are never consistent and are usually based on the model. Most OEM pc's restore the drive to the state it was when purchased during a recovery based on a stored image. Some offer a Application recovery program after the OS is recovered. In the latter case you can sometimes select which programs to reinstall.
