Is it legal to drive without my front ID?

I live in California.....can I legally drive without my front license plate? I have the rear plate and it is clear to read and see. I would rather take my front one off......thank you.

Nope. California has required front and rear plates on autos ever since I can remember, or over 50 years.

The great thing here is they sell plates all over the place .... Just turn up & say ,,,, I wanna Fr/Rr plate with "XYZ 21" on it & they make you one ....... Couple O screws (Or sticky pads) & your away ........ Cops likely to swing you round by your genitalia tho' if your plate has bogus info on it
