rules about posting link to sysopt forums

Are there any issues I need to know about posting a link to your forums telling people they should check it out because it's a great place to get good technical information?? I started a free site where I can post links to the places and programs I use because It will save me a lot of time when my friends (and friends of friends) ask me questions....
...this is the site so you can see if it's ok like it is:
    http://markscomputerstuff.webs.com
...feel free to sign on as a member and / or give me advice also...I don't know a lot of computer tech type people so you folks could help me out a lot!!!

I look forward to your feedback!!

    Thanks in advancd!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you familiar with the term SPAM.

You're a competitor web site and we'd prefer you to not recruite members from here

    Internet.com AUP Agreement

ps.. I peeked around for a minute or two. Everytime I clicked on a link I got a HUGE picture of a mobo flash buy...It would drive me nuts if I spent any time there.

I think he's asking the reverse, whether or not it's okay to post our link on there, and of course it is.

...no, not a competitor Steve, far from it...I learned most of what I know from you guys & if you notice all I'm doing is plugging your site because I think it's AWESOME...of course there's others (including what I hear is a sister site)...I'm not trying to compete, I just wanted to share where I find info and I also said "ask the Gurus" meaning you folks...my site does have a forum where I would reply to basic questions..by saying "try Google" or "go to Sysopt and ask the smart guys"...or some such thing...
....I started it because people ask me to send links to where I get free firewalls & A/V & malware programs and I got tired of typing the same things...also when I'm at a friends house and they ask I can go to one place and get them for their computer....
...the most I would do on the forum to link a reply to the same question that was asked on your site...**note**..link to your site's reply...not copy and paste...

...so the question was..."can I place a link to your site recommending that is is a GREAT place to seek advice from REAL computer GURU's" ....

Please check the site and see if I'm stepping on any toes...it's NOT my intent to steal traffic....only to share good places to go for advice and software....I make 0 cents for anything on the site...just wanted to share good things on the web...

(BTW) Thanks Steve, you've always given good advice!

What happened to your primary account? I can help you regain access to it, if you wish. I can even merge the two

    Wink

merging the 2 would be good...I moved and lost the comcast e-mai account and never re-set it to my new one so I can't reset the pasord....I thought I knew it (after all it worked yesterday) so I thought I did break the rules and got disabled...
...I did have an old accoung that was just mousepotato.....lowt that e-mail & made one "mousepotato2....then didn't have a 'puter for a year of 2 so I made "mousepotato11....now "formerly mousepotato"....I'd like to make my user name "markscomputerstuff" and if you can merge all of them + add tne newest e-mail contact + one other that I can always access....it would be fanstic if that could be done!!!

as to the question about my site & linking...as I said I just want to make a central places for my friends to get all my links/tips in one place....I'm not pretending I know things...just sharing where I found the things I've learned....they have o sign in as members to YOUR site to ask you questions.....I'm not selling info....just promo'ing good sites (notice SysOpt is at the top of the list!!)...

...so my question stands...Is it ok???....please check the site and see if it is within the rules, ok??

    Thanks in advance!!!!

    Mark

PS...you can e-mail me at the e-mail listed on the Formaly mousepotato acount listed e-mail...just let me know....that's not my main one...

...just did some updates and wanted an opinion...
....also isn't Virtural Dr Forums a sister site???...so far they arn't sure if it's ok to place a link to thier site saying it's a good place for advice / help....

guess it depends on the wording and who you ask???

either way...I'll remove any link that's not approved...

....thanks for letting me extol yours as a great site!!!!!!!!!

The easiest way to tell is scroll to the bottom of the forum. If you see the words Internet.com anywhere in the footer, linking is prohibited.

...well...added more stuff.....I don't see anything like "internet.com" so I'm assuming so far so good...
...now just asking if this is getting usefull to anyone....I seen a lot of you good people take great pains to set up links to a lot of good information and I only want to start a page to the things I've found usefull at some point or another so a lot of them I've found because of you folks....
....do you folks think this site is getting or will be usefull to people???...should I keep it up????...is it getting better>>>???
....just opinions and as asked before, am I stepping on anyone's toes???

    ***Link Removed***

    Thanks in advance (again)...

If you're asking-> Has the traffic at Sysopt increased every since you started your web site and placed a link to here-> the answer would be Nope.

I would like to insist that you refrain from posting links to your site while visiting here.

    ...sorry Steve.....no more links...
....no, I wouldn't expect to drive much traffic to you....I only was trying to make a place for friends and friends of friends....I'd be lucky to get a couple of hits a week myself...
,,,only wanted opinions from some experts such as yourself...sorry about that...
...perhaps someone knows a forum that could give me an idea as to the usfullness of a site such as mine for the avg. user....if so I'm guessing it should be in the form of a PM...
...if it's not ok to ask for that much please remove the above line Steve...
...once again, didn't mean to offend by posting the link, won't happen again.

    Thank you......
