Question for an administrator
Hi anyone,
could someone tell me why this site won't allow my avatar.
I tried an animated one but got a message stating they were not allowed.
When I re-read the notes it stated,
Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 75 by 75 pixels or 11.7 KB (whichever is smaller).
the avatar I was trying to use was 97 x 100 pixels but is only 10.75 KB, which is smaller than 11.7KB.
I'm not complaining just wondering!
Thanx.

It looks like you answered your own question.
You avatar is 97x100 pixels and the size limit is 75 x 75.
My avatar is 62 x 39 pixels and 1333 bytes.

The specifications for an avatar are quite deceiving.. You'd think aslong as just one of either the pixels or the image size are within the given specifications, it would work, but actually the image needs to be smaller than 75x75 and 11.7KB.
Not to mention, we can't have animated avatars anymore anyways.

I meant to say we can't upload animated avatars anymore
but we can still keep the "grandfathered" ones

Thought you also had to have like 50 posts too. And posting jibberish just to get your post count up would get 5 posts deleted.

What is this "Grandfathered in" business?

Example: New/existing members can't "add" or change to animated avatars. Existing members that have an animated avatar get to keep theirs.
