    latency problems

Ok, have 2 pc's one running xp-pro sp3, other vista x64 ultimate. Noticed that pc1 (vista) has latencies ranging from 200-350ms. Pc2 (xp-pro) keeps pretty constant around 80-100

Seems to isolated to just gaming (WOW and LOTR) just seems noticeably laggy

    both pc's using linksys router
both using same firewall and anti-virus
    have changed ethernet cables around
have run ping & bandwidth test from www.pcpitstop.com (not sure how reliable) but both have similar pings 60-90 on multiple test.

    pc1 spec pc2 spec
gigabyte ep45-ud3p ver. asus a8n sli premium

    evga 9800gx2 ati x1900xtx

    1. update Windows
    2. update your nic drivers
    3. enable "throughput" in your nics properties
    4. try disabling programs running in the background while gaming ( even your AV and firewall, etc.)
    5. be sure your connecting to the same game server and using the same game service packs (compare apples to apples )
