Annoying Ad on Every Page
What's with the new Sun Microsystems ad at the top of every page? It's annoying having to scroll down or click "close this ad" on every new page or page refresh. Can this be moved to the sidebar?
I'm sure Sun wanted placement to make an effect on potential customers. Let them know it's had its effect on me. I'm never going to buy anything of theirs if I have to disable something I want just to not see their c r a p.
Thank God we're not getting all of the government we're paying for!

Seems only to be on Firefox, IE6 is not a problem. Gotta see if Opera's affected.

I saw it once at Hardware Central for two seconds and then it went away. Haven't seen it here or anywhere else.
Vista and IE7.

Hangs there for about 15 seconds with Firefox. Then it disappears.
IE 6 shows it also.

I'm stuck using FF at work because the boss wants this browser and his name is on my paychecks. The problem is there and it's annoying. I'm happy for those who don't have the problem. That doesn't fix the problem, though. After disabling images from ad.doubleclick.net, this is what shows for 10-12 seconds:

It doesn't bother me at all to go to 5Star Support or other sites during the day. If that's what I need to do to get tech help for my boss's customers, that's what I'll do. Thing is, the customers want to know where I got my info and I'd rather point them to a JupiterMedia site but I'm not going to send them to a website that doesn't work right. The boss won't tolerate this kind of delay all day long, and I don't blame him.

I have a feeling that ad is just now being implemented as we write and the kinks haven't been worked out yet.
I just stopped by VirtulDr with my Vista and IE7 machine and boom - saw the add...As I went into a forum, part of the ad stuck on my screen but went away shortly.

Behaving better already, that's great. Now if I can get the funeral home to unfubar my father-in-law's service I'll be normal again.

Never saw it in IE6, 7 or 8beta.
Doesn't seem to be showing up in FireFox now. It was there yesterday.

I'm afraid there's nothing that can be done about that...
