    Question PC Recovery deleted my data files, How can I recover them???

    I had to run PC Recovery on my HP Pavilion m7580n (running WINDOWS XP Media Center Edition). At the beginning of the process, PC Recovery stated that my DATA FILES wouldn't be deleted. However, it wasn't true and all my data files are now gone.

    How can I recover them? I remember PC Recovery also mentioned something about recovering the system in a partition or something along those lines.

    Any ideas???

    Why didn't you do a backup in the first place? Anything can happen when doing a restore. It is WAY harder to get data back after your format and overwrite files.

    For freebies, you can try PC Inspector. You will need a second hard drive hold the recovered data.

    If that doesn't work, you'll have to turn to a commercial utility like GetDataBack.
