    Exclamation KB951748 and Zonealarm problem

If you are running Zonealarm firewall and you didn't install Windows Update yet, do NOT install KB951748. If you do, chances are your Internet connection will be blocked.

Zonelabs is aware of the problem, but there is no fix at this time.

This may be a good time to switch to Online Armor or Comodo.

Hmm, yes, too late. The update got installed automatically this morning on my system here in the UK. I didn't even connect the update with the outage, but ought to have. ISP support line ID'd as probably to do with ZoneAlarm, especially as they don't support its use (they supply a complete McAfee security suite that I choose not to use, but they do support). Anyway they had me disable ZoneAlarm and internet was back again. I've uninstalled ZoneAlarm (free edition), keeping Avast Home. I've switched the Windows firewall back again, relying mainly on the hardware firewall in the Thompson Speedtouch router.

Hoopefully ZoneAlarm will issue a fix in a new edition.
