Used PCs are a dime a dozen. It is impossible to get rid of it.

Selling used hardware to a friend is the fastest way to make them an enemy. Once you sell it, then you own the warranty repairs to the PC for life. They will hound you with every little beep, burp, and error message.

Truer words were never spoken. Also, even if it works perfectly forever, you'll get ripped at THEM for every ham-handed thing you think they're doing to your former baby.
Thank God we're not getting all of the government we're paying for!

I would recommend donating it to a local day care, church, YMCA/YWCA, or other non-profit organization that could use a decent machine. Schools will usually get more donations than they can use, so that should be your last option.

I'm going to give my old system with this card i have now to a friend and in turn for setting it up for him, he is going ot help with me getting that new video card i want. Of course i could go a diff. route for that... but I agree that it is hard to get true value out of re-selling ones old PC. Alot of people use 'craigs list' as an avenue for selling things like old computer stuff or? might try that out. lol

One thing i would do is take out the things you can or might use later on and sel or donate the rest if ot sold. The PSU and HD might be worth keeping. IMO
