Sounds like you need to shuffle some PCI card slot assignments. Something is stepping on the IDE controllers resource toes.

Question DMA transfers not enabled for DVD

I am having a strange problem...I just installed a new DVD 10X drive and a CD-RW. When I check the "DMA" box (from the hardware properties menu) on both of these devices the DVD Drive letter does not show up in explorer. The DVD is listed under the Device Manager, but their is no drive letter. When I uncheck the "DMA" box then the drive letter shows up. the system does not have a problem recognizing the CD-RW in DMA mode. I have the CD-RW hooked up on the Primary Master and the DVD on the Secondary Master. I also have a Zip 100 internal drive hooked to the Primary Slave. Any thoughts...
