CPU fan is too loud. Please help.

Hello, I have a stock cpu fan that is generating a very loud noise after about 30 minutes of activity. I am thinking of just replacing it but I do not know which one to choose. Does anyone have any recommendations? I need a standard 775 heatsink that is quiet and not too expensive.

My only other experience with heatsinks is the Big Typhoon I am using on another comp that I OC'ed a while ago...but I don't need anything that big or fancy.

    Thanks in advance.

Have you ever cleaned all the dust and stuff out from under the fan?

Use canned air and take it outside and clean things up.

I did have to do that untill I moved, every 3 weeks.

Turns out I didn't need to buy a new fan. There was something wrong with the current one; it speeds up to 4000-5000 rpm despite reading a temperature of 40C. I had to turn on Q-Fan control to lower the rpm to about 3200. It still seems a little fast but it is much quieter now.

Seems a tad slow, but if your temps are fine, then it is ok.
