I think that, before anything is sorted out with the mods, they all need to get on the same page and some ground rules need to be set for their behavior--i.e. what's acceptable and what's not--just as there are ground rules set for everyone who agrees to create an account.
Nothing like that will be resolved in this thread, or any thread in the main user sections. Those threads need to take place away from the general areas and the admin/owners need to step in to keep these children with itchy banning fingers and overly-inflated egos in check.
I realize that a mod or two might find these comments "irritating," but it's only because the comments are true and strike a nerve.

If ANY member feels the mod crew has treated them unjustly, come to me. Use the contact us link, which goes directly to my email, and make your case. I will view it fairly and I will respond, whatever the determination.
However, that said, this forum is NOT your personal soapbox and the VOLUNTEER moderator crew here does not have to be subjected to your constant criticism. And in case that is too vague, here's a more succinct approach. If you don't cease publicly 2nd guessing and criticizing the mod crew here, I will ban your account, your IP address, your email, and any descendants who can be identified via DNA testing.

The mods are just doing their job, they aren't supposed to agree with any of us all the time since they are supposed to shun those that don't follow the rules.

SysOpt.com Forum FAQ - Policies
What is Objectionable/Questionable Material?
Any post containing suspect material will be removed or edited. This includes, but is not limited to: spam, pornography, warez, copyrighted material, offensive language, and other useless material. Useless posting can further be defined as any material that provides no actual benefit to the forum or thread in which it is contained.
What is Proper Conduct?
All members are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner. Members should understand that opinions vary. Do not use the forums for posting disrespectful or inflammatory remarks about anyone else. Any post violating this policy will be subject to editing or removal.
How to Report Board Violations?
All violations of any SysOpt.com policies should be directly sent to the forum moderators. Moderators are only human, so they can miss a violating post on occasion. Also, if you find any material objectionable, feel free to contact the moderators via e-mail.
What about Censorship?
SysOpt.com retains the right to censor any member's post. The forums are public, and free for open use, but are maintained under the private ownership of EarthWeb and Sysopt.com. The administration of SysOpt.com can edit and/or remove any post, and can even delete any member's account. A reason is commonly provided for these actions, but no expressed reason is actually required for these actions to occur.
Moderation Concerns
The moderators will be glad to discuss any issue related to posting procedures. They will answer any questions you might have concerning our message board, posting, procedures, and policies. Their e-mail addresses are always printed near the top left-hand corner of each forum page.

1st of all, I didn't start this thread. It was started by a mod or admin after I posted this as a reponse to the opening of a thread called tant v mods. After that thread was closed and I was warned, I shut up.
2nd, I do believe that even mods had to agree to those rules as well, since we're all users. If the stress of being a volunteer moderator means you can no longer be polite to some of the folks who come here and ask simple, possibly redundant, questions, then it's time to unvolunteer and find a less-stressful outlet for your spare time.

that was my thread, after the fish thread got derailed. I found it amusing that that got erased, which was in OT. This one, in a more standard forum, get's the deathstar's policy and procedure doctrine published and commented on(see
). I'm beginning to understand that Lando is right sometimes. ...sometimes. I've got a bet with myself that this thread will get closed or deleted as well.

Actually, from what I can tell, all threads in here get deleted (maybe moved) after all discernable use has come from it. That goes for positive and negative comments.

It seems to me from reading all that has been going on it's might be a good thing to remember this is a Forum on the Internet. It's not like people are standing right in front of you and or on the phone.
Sometimes it good just to take a deep breath and relax and remember that it's just the Internet.
However if members see something they don't care for or don't like they can report the post and or PM one of us or the Admins. Joe and Steve are very fair.

I agree with that. My point is, if you have a problem with something a moderator does, bring it to me, I will listen and examine the issue fairly. That's my job.

That is very true, more than true for all the mods. Alot of stuff I've done has really bent or went over the edge with the rules, and I have been caught for most of it...so has jm, mireland, leppy...I'd say they've been more than fair to everyone and forgiving.
