You should not be prompted for a domain and password unless you are set up for a domain. Is this PC a domain member or is that a mistake?

No Bill...it is not part of a domain. It is a stand alone PC that I use and built myself. That is the puzzling part of all this..it just states. Windows could not log you on. Check the user name/domain name to make sure they are correct .The same statement also covers the password. I dont know if that user/domain staement is just a blanket response from windows but like I said before. I have never had a password on any account untill today and I have never required such to log into windows.
Thanks

If you just created a new password and you still can't get in, I'm stumped.
Try creating a new account and be sure that it's a member of the Administrators group. Try logging on with that one.
