    Sony VGN-FS660 Overheat ???

I am working on a Sony VGN-FS660 laptop. The original problem was it would sometimes boot and sometimed not. It had a bit of Spyware but not an extrordinary amount and no viruses (at least detected viruses). It was very sporatic.

I decided to totally reload it so to start clean. (WXP HOME SP2) using the recovery software on the computer. All went well. MS update went well as did AV and Spyware software software. I thought the problem was solved.

Bam! Not to be During a restart, the laptop bluescreened and started the same old problem. The bottom of the laptop seems almost hot and I now am suspecting a heat problem. Any ideas???

One more bit of information. The message "Installing new Hardware" frequently appears and the hardware is a "APCI Uniprocessor".

Open the bottom tray and blow the dust out of the cooling tract with compressed air - while the fan is running.

Did you download all of the drivers for this laptop from Sony?
    MS MCP, MCSE
