cmos error
when i boot my machine i get the following error:
cmos checksum error-defaults loaded
cmos battery failure.
I replaced the battery but still get the error. i can reset the settings in bios but when i choose save and exit the machine reboots and the error comes right back. Any elp would be appreciated

Any chance you replaced the battery while the power was on?
Also - it might be a new battery, but is it any good?
Lastly - sure that you don't simply have a bad CMOS jumper on your board? Do the pins of the CMOS jumper on the board look tarnished or show any corrosion on then?
You might benefit by sliding the CMOS jumper up and down the pins a few times or replace the CMOS jumper with a new, tight fitting jumper.
Another alternative is that your BIOS chip itself has gone bad and may need to be replaced.

you know I am getting the same error. except not about replacing the bat. but I did anyway I am not getting the error if I leave the pc plugged in but when I unplug it for a while boom.
