Frames Per Second Boost with PCI Sound Card?

Right now I am using an onboard sound which is Realtek Avance AC 97.

Will there be any significant FPS boost/performance boost by adding a new sound card?

I'm thinking about this one: 120 bucks.

Pros: Much better than onboard sound on Motherboard. The sound quality when playing Music CDs is incredible and the mixer software adds a nice ability to tailor the sound to your taste. I play Battlefield 2 and did notice an increase in frame rate after I installed the card, but I don't notice any GREAT increase in sound quality when playing the game. Yes, it does sound much better, but I am not noticing the tremendous increase in quality that other people have. However, I only have a 2.1 speaker setup, although it is very high quality. I have played with the settings in the driver software and in BF2 (hardware set to EAX, settings on Ultra High, etc) to ensure I have things setup correctly but I still don't notice a great increase in sound quality over the Mobo sound. Maybe you need 5.1 or 7.1 speaker setup to truly enjoy the superior sound?

Hey thanks for that link, I wish I could shop at newegg. But they only sell to American customers. I'm in Canada lol.

Now just gotta wait for my money to go into my pay pal account.

BTW, do you recommend any cheap high quality-bang for my buck speakers? I heard about Altec Lansing.

Man I can't wait till I buy some 5.1 speakers + this card and kick everyone's *** in Call of Duty!!! Muahahahahhahaha !~!!!

BD... ahahahhahah! Now thats some funny stuff. A little razzle dazzle.... spitzy set of speakers...

Logitech speakers are very good. Quite a few of trhe gamers out there probably still use their 5.1 speaker setup. I would guess that you could get them for pretty cheap nowdays.. They were a good price five years ago. Safe bet. read ll the gmers like yourself reviews too.

Altec Lansing are OK... I wouldn't buy them myself, but then i've read the spec sheets on bass and other compared to the big three. ( Creative, Logitech and the more expensive but superior Pro Media 5.1 's .. They list for about $340.00 now )

A sound card is better. here we go again. Keep getting this same post by someone else.. read same thing recently.. Audigy 2 ZS is just about as good. Same basic specs, and alot cheaper. (192 MHZ .. 24 bit EAX and all the rest. )
