    OMG. You poor thing. LOL!

Make sure that the emoticons are either JPEGs or GIFs. I'm not sure which type Messenger uses and I'm not going to install it just to find out.

You can convert file types with IrfanView.

the only time that I had this error message was when the file exceeded the size limit. But, MSN messenger can be a picky program. Maybe try a small and simple animation smiley? Good luck!

Do it the easy way ... see this link:

    http://messenger.msn.com/Resource/Emoticons.aspx

Print it out and keep it handy .. a lot of emoticons have
a very simple keystroke combo .. they are built in to msn

theyre custom ones... the given ones work wihout a problem. the pics were used by some other program for some reason. jsut had to copy paste em somewhere else and it worked...
