win xp pro
512 mb ram
2 ghz pro
For some reason when i go to>>my computer i get 4 removable disk medias..(e, f, i, j) Nothing is pluged in such as an external usb hdd drive or a thumb stick. It just displays 4 of these and nothing is plugged in. I can't figure out how to remove this from displaying that.

No flash card reader for SD, compact flash, xD, etc? Have you tried to remove in the device manager?

no...i was worried that i might screw something up...so it's ok to de-activate those medias

If you're sure you don't have anything plugged in just deactivate those extra removeable drives in the device manager. Restart to make sure they don't come back! Let us know the results.
