anyone else had probs with AOL after line upgrade
In August AOL said they were upgrading my line so I was over the moon.
I had an email to say the upgrade had happened and it work take 10 days for the line to test itself to work out max speed possible etc.
3 weeks later my line spped was still rubbish - 1 day I would get a 3meg download bu most of the time I was getting under 1 meg.
I contacted AOL on 25/8 and they said my line needed another 10 days of testing as it wasn't yet at the fastest possible speed.
I have beared with it since then but now I am going to contact them again because at the minute my line speed is on average 150kb!!!!
Sometime if I check my router status is says connected at 2.5meg but I can only get speeds of 980kb when I use a speed test. I tried 2 other routers just in case and get the same results.
I always have a constant upload speed of 448kb it is just my download speed is worst now than before my line was upgraded.
If anyone else has suffered this problem please let me know what happened.
Cheers
Shaun

ask them to do a 'swoosh' test on your line firstly. Also I'm not sure if this works, but they say getting the line gain increased on your phoneline helps.
