    unloking gsm mobile phone

    Hello Dear ones,

    I just got a gift from one of my american friend which is a gsm cell phone. On getting the phone, I got a sim from indian service provider Idea but it is not working. I approached to a local technican to correct but he is not able to clear it and told me that the phone is locked, and need to unlock for which he demanded me to pay 2000 rupees and a weeks time as he want to contact to his delhi office for getting correct unlock code. Is mobiles can be locked ?

    Please help me and give me exact solotion please.

    Handset is Nokia, while switching on it displays Vodaphone logo

    don't give the phone to anyone for a "week", it takes only seconds to unblock a phone with the right software.
