    possible fan clicking...help

In my previous post about my overheating setup (530J) i also mentioned my comp made a clicking noise similar to the noise a slow creaking door makes (except it happens fast). Someone mentioned it could be one of my fans breaking. I looked at all my fans and they all seem to be running smoothly. But the sound seems to be coming from the processor vid card area. I was trying to root out the problem and was wondering if it is ok to disconnect the plug on my vid card while the comp is on but under no load to see if the noise still persists therefore making it the processor. Thankyou.

You could pull out the RAM then boot up. The system will not show any video and that should be ok to pull the plug on the video card fan.

DO NOT pull the plug on the processor fan and then start the system. It takes less than 30 seconds to fry a processor that is not protected.

Why not take the system to a PC repair shop.
