    I could just about puke!!!

I work on quite a number of computer and most are pretty dirty on the inside. Some I could just about PUKE when I open them up. They wonder why they don't run properly. Smokers computer are about the worst with the combination of tar from smoke and dust from the environment. I have gagged more than once.

I would like to see instructions from computer manufacturers instructing people to take off the skins and vacuum them out once in a while (no, air blowing won't do it).

Anyway, I needed to get this off my chest. Thanks!

You could offer a cleaning service either in shop or in home ... you
could probably easily charge $75 or so and most people would pay it,
especially after they see the results ... fully clean the keyboard, monitor,
computer insides of dirt / dust / whatever else got in

I install BB for a living & I could easily setup the broadband connection for just about all of my customers! but the company does not allow us to touch the clients computers (officially) because of the risk of fraudulant claims for damage or data loss.

and you had better believe that there are those that will see & take advantage of this kind of situation.

This is an interesting issue. Since I reload many computers, I do have the exposure of data loss, no matter how hard I try to avoid it. Most people are not well organized on how/where they keep there data and some can be missed. Perhaps a hold harmless document would be appropriate. Thanks for the eye opener.
