The ads to the right hand side of the screen

I know I know....it has been discussed a lot already

I have no problem with ads. None whatsoever. But ones which make my screen very narrow and are animated....well I just hate 'em.

I admit...I have had them ad-blocked up until 48 seconds ago. I think a lot of member would have ad-blocked them too.

How can anyone be expected to put up with ads that intrude on our forum experience?

I am sure that there are other places on the page to put these ads and news text (or whatever that is). Why am I so sure....becase sysopt is the only place I've seen with ads like this.

I'm pretty sure that sysopt loses potential members from posting due to these annoying ads at the right hand side.

The ads are staying.

The size of the ads will also stay the same.

It's been addressed more than a few times before (Not just here either) so it won't change.

Jim's right, we don't have that kind of leeway to make those kinds of changes. It's either not have a forum, or have those ads. So now that we got that out of the way, we can talk about the things that maybe we CAN do to improve the forums. Bear in mind I have no say in what happens on any but the actual forum pages, not the front page

I should also point out, there's only 1 ad on the right. The other things aren't ads

I think, its just an overall layout issue...

The "content" i suppose on the right side is pushing everything to the left...

mabey a split or something that could center the forums would be nice?

Sorry to bring up a thread from the past.

Can we not have something similar to TechIMO for the ads at the side?

A button which will push them to the top and widen the area?
