    Nero7 ultra Buffer corrupt

    Hi,

I recently bought the NERO ULTRA 7 Edition. Turned off Anti-Virus software, installed from CD.
When I tried to burn a regular Audio CD, I get this error message. "BUFFER OVERUN DETECTED
CORRUPTED INTERNAL STATE" Also, I see the "NOT RESPONDING" next to NERO BURNING ROM at the top. This has been happening a lot lately,so I start in Safe mode and run disc clean-up and Defragged the system.

Anyway, I have used the clean tools ultility to wipe all nero off the system, and reinstalled the software and still no go.

Does anyone know if this is a Microsoft
XP O.S. Problem, which I may have to re-install the O.S., or something to do with me needing to update this Nero software.
I wonder why this just wouldn't work since it's brand new out of the box. Thank you for any ideas!

Sounds to me like you may be overclocking your system. Are you?

If yes, then drop the CPU speed back down to factory defaults and try to burn.

Burning while you overclock the system never works reliably.

What media (brand of CDs) are you burning? Have you tried burning at the slowest spped and working up faster? I had some media that gave that error if I burned at the rated speed, but if I burned slower then they came out perfect.

Your problem IS NOT a Windows XP error.

    no overclocking...

No Overclocking on my part. I've tried to go to configure in the burn options and turn it down, but I don't seem to find it anywhere..just the ERROR MESSAGE. I am using TDK CD-R,and TDK DVD Blanks. Thanks for reply.

Buffer overruns are caused when the drive cannot keep up with the PC when burning. The reason may be an obsolete older drive or one that is starting to fail.

If you haven't update Nero. Then try turning off programs running in the background and multitasking while you compile and burn . eg. AV and firewall ...

Upgrading the firmware on the drive might help.
