    No User/Groups under Control Panel/---

I am having great difficult loading LiveUpdate for NAX2006. It says I don't have write access rights. The OS is WXP Home .I believe the problem is that their are no Uers/Groups listed in Administrative Tools/Computer Management. If is is on the right track, how do I correct this??? There are 3 login profiles each supposedly having Administrative rights.

Further investigation tells me there should not be a Local Users/Groups under Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management. Be that the case, I still get "write access denied" when installing LiveUpdate. All users are Administrators. Any clues?? I have tried everything on the ymantec website

Did this system have a previous version of NAV or other AV? If so make sure it is uninstalled. In the case of NAV get the removal utility for the previous version from Symantec. As an example here is the Symnatec documents for removing NAV 2003.

Each version has a document like this. Just find the right one.

Actually, I did this using the 2003 removal tool. I also removed the 2003 LiveUpdate using Control Panel Also the WMI program in CP. I the removed all Symantec/Norton file I could find but notice a Symantec entry in the Registry. Did not remove that. Can't remember the path but believe it was in HK-Local---,Software/Microsoft/Symantec or somthing like that.

I then reloaded NAV 2006 but LiveUpdate will just not install/run

Try to download and install Live Update from Symantec instead of from your CD.

I do appreciate this suggestion. Actually the entire product is being downloaded including a seperate download of Live Update when it doesn't work from the normal product download. I have no CD. What is odd here is that when I start in Safe mode, only the Administrator and one other User profiles show. When in Normal mode 3 profiles show up excluding the Administrator. I am now trying to load under the profile that shows up.
