    PC freezing

    Hi folks

My system: CPU Amd Barton 2800, 1250mb memory, WINXP professional.

Since I changed over my router from wired to a wireless netgear DG834G 54mbs, my PC freezes up occasionaly.

    Everything else works fine.

This happens at random around every 2 or 3 days .

I have restored to a ghost image of last May, but it still freezes, so the problem points to my using the netgear router.

    Any sugestions Please

    I need to reboot.

I have found a channel setting defaulted to 11, I changed it to 10, and will now wait and see. Maybe it is similar to DMA setting?

normally you would use channel 1, 6, or 11.

it could just be a coincidence about the wifi. I would run diags on the ram, hd, and check for bad caps. it could also be a flaky psu.

Have you installed any latest NetGear firmware updates? More importantly, have you installed the latest wireless NIC drivers? Surely there must be a known fix in the NetGear forums.

The Ram & PSU seems to be working good.

It seems to be holding out so far, I am using channel 10.

I will check the netgear forum for any updates,
