Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA - retail is retail and these kids are only human but you should bring that e-mail in to the store.
You really should have told them you wanted a new drive, used your old one to get what you needed - it must have been accessible if your data was still on it - then brought the bad one back for a credit - or at least wiped it clean
man - what a story.....
