Real bad intererance from sound card (and replacement) What could it be?
I have an EWS 64 s isa sound card.As soon as i power on my PC i can here the HDD spinning through my speakers.I can also here interferance when winodows is loading.Once in windows, the noise increases to a sound like a vacuum cleaner.Ive replaced the sound card and connected to another stereo system
Is it my motherboard, case,or even PSU doing this.Where are mobos grounded.

Probably a bad overall system ground. Are you plugged into a true three-prong outlet? If not try to get your case hooked to a good solid ground.
BTW - the mobo generally grounds through the attachment screws. There should also be a ground connection with you power supply connector. If the power supply has a good external ground lead (i.e., a true three-prong outlet) you should be OK.

go to your local home improvement shop and buy a ground/hot/common tester - plug it in and fix your anomaly..
