    Windows fails to load

First of all, Hi to old Sysopt friends if any of you are still around. Been a while.

I bought my new computer about 2 months ago and have had several props with it. I have:

    Athlon 939: 3500+
    Asus A8N SLI
    ATI X800 256mb
1gb of OCZ DDR 400 Ram
    250gb Sata Maxtor Diamondmax 10

The windows loading screen (blue moving bar) sometimes will load within about 10 seconds (this is what I'd expect), but then about every 1/4 times it will take about 3 minutes to load. I have never found out what this could be.

Also I have turned it on a couple of times and it doesnt load as it doesnt recognise the HD. A reboot solved this both times.

Last night I installed Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120% (for legit reasons ). After rebooting the computer stuck on the 'windows loading screen' and would not pass. Since then I haven't been able to pass it.

I can load into safe-mode fine. I have tried enabling boot-logging then looking at ntbtlog.txt but it does not seemed to have logged anything from the failed boot. I have tried going to previous restore points before Alcohol and Daemon but no difference.

Now im stuck for ideas. What you think?

You should uninstall Daemon Tools because (for some reason) System Restore doesn't remove the "D347PRT" driver.

You should strip down to the "no GUI boot" with MSConfig.

I would remove all the phantom devices:

Ok thanks, but now ive allready done a sys restore before Daemon Tools was installed. Do I need to search through the computer and delete the "D347PRT" driver file manually.

Sterling_Aug: what are these phantom devices? I can do what the guide says to show but what am I removing?

Just remove anything you like. Genuine devices will be reinstalled automatically. In other words, don't sweat it.
