Win 2000 screen saver keeps disabling

Windows 2000 on this PC (SP4) keeps resetting the screen saver back to NONE whenever the user logs off or resets the PC.

Anyone know a fix? I've searched MS and havent found the issue yet.

i was thinking the same thing. you can either create a local or group policy, or if you are in a domain, check if someone has already set a policy which overrides the screensaver setting.

I setup the OS a while back, and no one in the office knows how to setup policies, so no one has an overriding policy.

I solved it by setting up a group policy that requires the screen saver, but still dont know what caused original issue.

If anyone reading this (even a while later) has run into this and solved it otherwise, please post.
