    Processor Upgrade

I'm upgrading my old mobo (agp) to a new pci express one. It's the Abit KN8 SLI s939 (newegg - mobo)

    I'll be going from an athlon 64 3000+ (oc'd 1.8 - 2.26) to either an:
    (1.)Athlon 64 x2 3800+ 2.0ghz @ $313
    (2.)Athlon 64 3700+ 2.2ghz @ $233

would the extra $80 be worth it? also, how good is this motherboard at overclocking?

Yes. the extra $80 is worth the X2, especially when they start supporting multi-threaded apps and games. (not to mention that the 3800 X2 can multitask very well. the 3700+ can't.)

Go with the X2. Get the dual core and they are great overclockers. I got my 3800 running at 2.5 right now on air, without touching the voltage at all. Having the extra core is real nice, especially when you multitask.
After getting mine, I won't go back.

I like the Asus and Abit mobo's. Solid and good overclockers. Best to get a decent one, not one of the low end models.
