New GFX that give preformance boost simular as tnt2 to 9800..

I'm starting to notice my computer isnt preforming fast enough for World of Warcraft. It is all I really play.

When I first bought the tnt2 m64 few years ago and upgraded to 9500 while Diablo 2 was my game at that time. I noticed a huge diffrence. But when I started playing World of warcraft I began to notice my computer age. And began to wonder when should I buy my next graphic card? I want the next card to have a huge preformance diffrence from my 9800 AIW pro as it did for my 9500 from tnt2 m64.

    Video Comparison Guides

the x800s make a big difference already. the problem is that most of the high end cards are PCIe only now. you might as well wait until you buy your new system to upgrade the video card. no sense in investing a lot of money into a card you can't migrate.

I dont understand why did they have to demolish AGP? Wasnt it introudced few years ago? And why cant they just make make a AGP 16x maybe...

I suppose I'll upgrade my current system from 768 mb to 1.5 gb ram for now until I build a new PC.

PCIe is not just a graphics standard; it will replace PCI also.

The "demolished" AGP because it was completely obsolete. I'm sure you'll thank them too since the current generation of cards is finally starting to tap the power of PCIe. AGP is good, but PCIe is WAY better. If you don't understand why, read the article in the link above.

I agree with midknyte, I wouldn't upgrade from your 9800 AIW until you can upgrade to a PCIe system. But if you're aching for an upgrade, an X800XT or GeForce 6800GT would tide you over for a while. I've got a GeForce 6800GT@Ultra spec and I play WoW at 1600x1200 resolution with max graphics settings and the only places I get under 40fps is while in Orgrimmar or Iron Forge when there's a lot of people online. If you stepped it down to 1024x768, you'd probably never even notice much graphics lag.
