    TV Tuner for laptop

I was wondering if anyone can point me in a direction of where i can find more info about laptop tv tuners/capture devices (information & reviews)

I want to put some console games into short 10min clips & maybe start editing some videos with those videogame clips.

I just want to be a better informed consumer. I was ready to buy an external tv tuner but my laptop doesnt have usb 2.0
I understand that usb 2.0 is 12mb while usb is 1.1mb. I'd hate to spend money on something I'd be unhappy with. I was also looking into getting PCMCIA Tv Tuner but im not sure if its good enough for what i wanna do. I've tried searching the net for more info but all i run into are deals/sales of these cards.

My laptop is about 3yrs old.
Sony Vaio Mobile Pentium4 processor 2GHz1-M
    1Gb DDRAM
    Radeon Mobility 7500
    40Gb Harddrive

Also, I use one if the pcmcia slots already for my Wireless connection. dunno if thatll be a problem later (Ive seen how bulky these pcmcia tv tuner cards
    can get)
this laptop was bundled with alot of video editing software. I just used this laptop for internet browsing & played a couple games on it while i traveled. Also has a firewire port.
    hmm... heehee

My system is an Athlon 64 X2 4200+, 2 GB DDR RAM, 3 SATA hard drives, one drive just for capture, SB Audigy 2.

The ATI USB tuner caused nothing but headaches for me, very choppy video, and I have a USB 2.0 connection. But like anything, your experience may vary.

In my opinion, the more options a capture card can give you the better. That is why I went with a ATI TV Wonder, PCI card. A person can capture in virtually any format, as well as any input.

    USB 1.1 is 12Mbps

    USB 2.0 is 480Mbps

Until you get a USB 2.0 adapter card, you can't use a tuner because they are all USB 2.0.

Honestly, a PCMCIA tuner is a better idea.

Oops, one thing I forgot is this person is looking for a laptop solution, which makes my previous post moot...

    PCMCIA Theoretical Max. Transfer Rate 20 Mbytes/sec (160 Mbits/sec)

since video editing is something i'm clueless in, I'm wondering how well this pcmcia transfer rate will do. Any inputs of video capture PCMCIA card users would be appreciated please.

If that's the bandwidth of PCMCIA, then USB 2.0 cards are in trouble, aren't they?

I'm pretty sure that PCMCIA has the same bandwidth as PCI - 133MBs. If you can get a PCMCIA tuner, do so. Why would you want to stick a USB layer in between when you can go native?
