delay in channel switching on my new LCD tv.

you guys have any idea why there might be a delay when switching from one channel to another on my Protron 32" LCD tv?? its like a 3 second delay. could this be the tv itself or the cable signal?? my tv downstairs doesn't do this. this makes channel surfing slowwwwwwwwww haha.
    I Thank Thee

Some TVs are fast, others slow.
My old 80cm TV took up to 4 seconds, my new one changes pretty fast.
I use a digital TV receiver now and the changes are instant, no more of that analogue crud!

Let me guess, you haven't even got digital TV yet.
You gotta stick to crummy analogue with the signal getting distorted by the metal plate used to hold whats left of your bain in.

Theres no diff between Digi & ana where I am ......... I have a Sky Digital Sat reciever ....... Jolly nice too .......... I could go Terrestrial digi ....... Bit of a bind tho having a million decoder boxes all over the gaff tho........ What I would like is a VCR/DVD recorder with a digital tuner ........ They just don't seem to exsist ..........

Thats what I'm after. I got a DVD/VCR and a Digital TV+HDD box, and can get a DVD/Digi TV player or an analogue DVD-or-HDD Recorder but I want em all in one. Though you can probably leave out the VCR function, I haven't played or even copied a tape in over 18 months.

I could never go back to analogue now though. I guess you get spoilt by DVD quality and 5.1 dolby digital very quickly.
Anyone still own (and USE) a cassette recorder for their day to day music listening needs?
    Thought not

The havent got around to HDTV yet ....... Sky are bringing out new boxes for it & yas can get HD ready Tv's ......... But the ability to record digital (integrated) let alone HD ....... Not a hope.

I spose I can record Sky on me comp....... Dunno if that really counts tho........ Spose not as its a analogue card

HD is great, heres a couple of snaps I just took from my AVerTV USB Box.
They're uncompressed JPEGs so a bit large but they're sweet, the detail in the fur is brilliant for free-to-air TV.
I just wish I had a big plasma or LCD TV plus a digital tuner
