    file clicking reboot xp

Hey guys this is a strange one , for me at least

two weeks ago I refomatted and reinstalled xp

the last two days when I doubleclick a .jpg or a .txt file the machine just reboots .

Ive tried resetting file ext.'s but to no avail

I guess Im just seeing if anyones run across this before or maybe some suggestions on what I could try to remedy thx

Hmmm cant find the edit button soo..

I just tried opening wordpad to save some valuable info from this site.. and a reboot

I went to look at the properties of wordpad and I see this ..

    target "D:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories\wordpad.exe"

    and start in %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%

    do these seem right ?

could it be trying to access wordpad from my C: win 98 drive ??

    ok thanks

Run a virus scan and a spyware scan.

    You caught something nasty.

74 "Java" referenced Virii\Trojans\Worms found in Symantec search!

    http://search.symantec.com/custom/us/query.html

Try another Virus scan - use "AntiVir", make sure you update the definitions first.
