Vid Card Upgrade Makes FPS lower

Hi all. I just bought a 9800pro, used to have a 9500pro. With the 9500 i was maxing out my FPS (99, 100) in Counterstrike. Now im getting 25-50. I dont understand how this is possible. Could it be that im using the newest drivers?

did you ensure you completely removed the old drivers and start off fresh?

Moving from one type to another (radeon to geforce) shouldn't cause any drop as they aren't using the same drivers, but staying within the same card type you have to be careful to remove the old drivers before sticking in the new card.
I have a friend whos finally upgraded his GF4-440 for a 6600, and untill we upgraded the drivers the performance of the 6600 just wasn't there.
